1. Rental information
ㆍ Please provide your passport and International Driving Permit and Local Driver's License(At least 1 year of driving experience) and A credit card in your name
ㆍ The IDP must be less than 1 year from issuance, issued from an embassy or consulate, and the country must be registered to the Geneva or Vienna Convention.
ㆍ Prior notification is required when extending the rental period
ㆍ Deposit Information
ㆍ Card Information
We will charge for speeding tickets or penalties after you return to your country. To do this, we need to collect your card number. (Your personal information is safe and will be deleted after six months.)
ㆍ All of Socar's vehicles are gasoline vehicles.
ㆍIn case of an accident, call 112 (Korean police) first, then please contact SOCAR customer service.
ㆍ Do not use the card in the vehicle for payments at gas stations. Unauthorized use will lead to charges.
2. Hi-Pass
ㆍ The Hi-Pass card is provided inside the vehicle, and the Hi-Pass fees are included in the rental cost.
ㆍ In the case of Jeju Island, there is no Hi-Pass available
ㆍ The line with the blue stripe indicates the Hi-Pass lane. The Hi-Pass lane is usually located at the far left side of the road. Please drive accordingly.
3. Insurance
Your car insurance is full coverage. Full coverage includes all accidents and damages to the vehicle.
The vehicle damage waiver covers injuries to the driver and the other person, as well as property damage.
According to company's policy, the insurance coverage will not be applicable in the following cases.
1. Accidents caused by the sole operation of the vehicle by a passenger who was not accompanied by the member.
2. Damages and accidents resulting from unauthorized disassembly, modification, vandalism, damage, and self-repair of the vehicle.
3. Failure to immediately or during the relevant reservation period report the accident or damage to the vehicle, or deliberately concealing, fleeing, or leaving the scene.
4. Damages caused by theft, collision, rollover, or submersion due to the member's clear intent, negligence, or unlawful acts, where the member was aware of the likely outcome. (accident, etc.)
5. Changing the actual driven vehicle or the damaged vehicle of the other party, or falsely reporting the accident details.
6. Collusion between the perpetrator and the victim to cause an accident and demand compensation.
7. Claiming compensation by including fictitious damaged parties or objects not related to the accident.
8. Causing significant internal or external damage to the vehicle by using the wrong fuel or poor-quality fuel.
Coverage of the insurance provided.
1.Bodily injury liability.(unlimited)
2.Property damage liability. (up to 100 million won)
3.Passenger accident insurance. (up to 15 million won)
It covers the repair cost of the vehicle, rental compensation, and the towing/recovery service of the affiliated partners.
4. Fuel Level Management Guide (Level to Level)
ㆍ Fuel Level Setting and Return:
1. When renting a vehicle, the fuel level is set as a percentage, and it must be returned at the same fuel level.
Example: If the gauge was at 50%, it must be returned at 50%.
ㆍ Cost and Refueling for Low Fuel:
1. If the fuel level at return is lower than the initial level, you may be required to pay for the fuel shortage.
2. You must refuel the vehicle according to the amount used and return it after fueling at a gas station.
3. When renting a vehicle, the rental fee is based on the fuel level, so refunds for any additional fuel purchased are not possible
5. Additional Services
ㆍ You can use free Wi-Fi inside the vehicle.
ㆍ We provide vehicle navigation for free.
ㆍ An additional driver can be registered and use the service for free. Please prepare the required documents if you wish to register.
